Multi-Paths Circuit Generator Benefits ASIC Designers
July 1999 Issue
Published Date: July 01, 1999
SpiceCut-Path is a multi-paths circuit generator that locates the paths from post-layout Spice netlist based on the specification of critical paths found by gate/cell-level timing tools such as Motive, PrimeTime, Pearl and PathMill. It then generates path netlists in SPICE format to facilitate the detailed simulation of critical paths with original interconnect RCs. SpiceCut-Path can create one SPICE netlist for multiple paths with coupling capacitances and resistances. The program paths simulation, bus contention analysis, coupling analysis, and clock analysis. Typical users include high-performance, full-custom IC and ASIC designers who need to accurately simulate the critical paths, perform bus contention analysis/clock analysis, and detect possible coupling programs.
