In its latest generation, Ultiboard printed circuit board (PCB) layout software is said to meld together all of today’s current board layout features plus innovative new capabilities not available in other layout tools. With Ultiboard V6, designers are said to have the means for laying out boards that are both highly complex and densely populated. In addition to incorporating all of version V5’s features, V6 also includes: push-and-shove trace editing and component placement; complete GUI customization; a 3-D PCB viewer; visible-split power planes; indication of magnetic attraction at pads; copper eraser; automatic dimensioning; microvias; and automatic alignment. The application also is available in eight different languages. Depending on the level of functionality required, price ranges from $399 for the entry-level Personal Edition to $4,999 for the advanced PowerPro.
