Enhancements Increase FPGA Software Performance July 2001 Issue Published Date: July 01, 2001
Synplify Pro FPGA synthesis software and Amplify Physical Optimizer, a companion physical-synthesis software option, have recently been revamped for high-density devices. Enhancements to Synplify Pro include the addition of register re-timing, said to enable faster circuit runtime for Xilinx's Virtex and Virtex-II devices and to provide support for Altera's Excalibur device family. Amplify now supports Virtex-II devices as well. Synplify 6.2 and Synplify Pro are priced at $9,000 and $19,000, respectively. Current users will be upgraded at no additional cost. The Amplify option is priced starting at $25,000.
