Circuit Protection Devices Go Lead-Free
November 2002 Issue
Published Date: November 01, 2002
To meet the growing demand for environmentally sound components, the company is revamping its circuit protection devices to meet the European Union directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. A three-phase strategy for the upgrade will begin with the introduction of lead-free variations of several product families, the first of which will be the 1206L and 1812L series surface-mount resettable PTCs. All lead-free components have been redesigned or modified to accommodate the higher soldering temperatures and more challenging placement requirements associated with lead-free manufacturing. LITTELFUSE INC., Des Plaines, IL. (800) 999-9445.
