Toolkit Links LabVIEW With Simulink
April 2003 Issue
Published Date: April 01, 2003
With the LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit, design engineers can link LabVIEW graphical development software with Math Works' Simulink modeling and simulation environment. By allowing Simulink model data to be controlled and viewed and to run Simulink models in LabView, the kit aims to reduce product development time by quickly moving from simulations and models to validating and testing real-world prototypes. The toolkit imports control models developed in Simulink directly into LabVIEW and then automatically generates the LabVIEW graphical code that design engineers can use to verify their models with measurement hardware, such as industry-standard data acquisition and CAN interfaces. Also, design engeineers can use LabVIEW Real-Time and either PXI-based controllers or NI FieldPoint distributed I/O controllers to address high-end application, such as rapid control prototyping and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Pricing for the kit starts at $995. NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, Austin, TX. (800) 285-7022.
