Low-Cost A/D Converter Integrates On-Chip Two Differential Channels
May 2003 Issue
Published Date: May 01, 2003
Designed for cost-critical designs, the LTC2436-1 16-bit, no-latency delta sigma A/D converter integrates two fully differential input channels and a 100 mV differential reference input. The device has a noise figure of 800 nVRMS and delivers 16-bit performance with full-scale ranges from ±2.5V to ±50 mV without the need for a PGA. Operation is from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply with a power consumption of 200 µA typical. Full-scale input is from -0.5 to 0.5 VREF, where the reference voltage can be anywhere between 0.1V and VCC for ratiometric and remote sensing configurations. Other features include a total unadjusted error of 3 LSB and an integrated oscillator that provides a simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz filter. Available in a 16-pin SSOP, pricing starts at $2.45 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (408) 432-1900.
