Precision Amp Eyes Low-Voltage Apps
June 2005 Issue
Published Date: June 09, 2005
Operating from a 2.7V to 5V supply, the AD8655 precision amplifier suits low-voltage, low-noise instrumentation, audio, communications, and medical applications. The device specifies a noise figure of 2.7 nV/vHz at 10 kHz and a distortion spec of 0.0008%, figures said to eliminate the need for external transistor stages or multiple parallel amplifiers. Maximum offset voltage is 250 µV over the full common-mode voltage range. Other features include rail-to-rail inputs and outputs, an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C, a bandwidth of 28 MHz, and an offset-voltage drift of 0.4 µV/°C typical and 2.3 µV/°C maximum. Available in 8-lead MSOP and SOIC packages, price is $0.70 each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
