Conductive Tape Can Take The Heat
July 2005 Issue
Published Date: July 05, 2005
Providing one-step adhesion to low-surface-energy substrates such as silicone or fluoropolymers, the 9719 electrically conductive transfer tape can withstand temperatures up to 204°C (400°F). The tape is impregnated with conductive fibers that extend above the adhesive, ensuring a reliable electrical connection between substrates, and provide a wiping action to create a good electrical contact. Additionally, the fibers provide reinforcement to improve handling characteristics. The silicone adhesive exhibits all the qualities necessary for attaching EMI/RFI shields and gaskets to electronic devices. Adhesion to silicone rubber is in excess of 20 oz./in. The tape also eliminates gaps along device/shield interfaces and is said to be easy to release from its liners. 3M ELECTRONICS, Saint Paul, MN. (800) 567-1639, ext. 5074
