A third generation of the USB 2.0 On-The-Go PHY intellectual property called I-PHY cuts the power consumption and physical area of the second generation IP cores by about 30%. The cores are used in ICs found in equipment such as personal computers and peripherals, Internet appliances, set-top boxes and satellites. They are used for low-power USB connections with personal computers and portable electronics such as digital cameras, video cameras and personal media players.
