ATCA Backplane Eases Prototyping
October 2005 Issue
Published Date: October 12, 2005
The company's two-slot AdvancedTCA (ATCA) backplane employs a point-to-point mesh topology that does not require the expense of switch cards for prototyping. The topology is a switchless 15x, replicated mesh with point-to-point links between the slots; however, a standard full mesh can also be implemented on the backplane. It features a 10-layer stripline design that features optimized routing via signal integrity studies. Connectors are also included for direct plugging of the company's IPM Sentry shelf manager. Pricing is under $700 depending on volume and configuration requirements with a lead time of four to six weeks ARO. ELMA BUSTRONIC CORP., Fremont, CA. (510) 490-7388
