Tilt Switch Detects Very Small Angles

The DSA01 combination tilt/sensor switch, which is triggered when tilted beyond ±10° of the horizontal axis, is said to be extremely sensitive to small angle changes. Engineered to replace mercury and pendulum switches, the component contains no mercury and features a sealed body that ensures contact reliability. Cylindrical in shape, it measures 29.3-mm long and 11.5-mm in diameter. An optional PCB adaptor is available that eases mounting. The single-pole single-throw, maintained-circuit switch specifies an operating range of 10° to 170° (ON) and 190° to 350° (OFF), allowing for a 500-ms settling time between states. Resistive load is 0.1A at 12 Vdc, and mechanical and electrical life is 100,000 operations minimum. NKK SWITCHES, Scottsdale, AZ. (480) 991-0942.
