NAND Chips Support SLC And MLC

June 25, 2007
The company's latest embedded NAND flash memories for mobile phones offer both a configurable single-level cell (SLC) memory area and a multi-level cell (MLC) memory area, allowing application and data storage on the same chip. User configurable, five devices in the mobileLBA-NAND series range in capacity from 2 Gb to 32 Gb. The 2, 4, and 8 Gb versions can be allocated as SLC up to their full capacity, while the 16 and 32 Gb versions support up to 8 Gb of SLC. With a logical block address access controller, all devices in the series integrate a unique control function that is able to address both SLC and MLC. They also support a standard NAND flash interface, allowing easy integration within existing products. The NAND flash memories will ship primarily in MCPs with a FBGA.
