1-Mb EEPROM With SPI Squeezes Into SO8N July 27, 2007
Fashioned for parameter storage in DTV, gaming, car infotainment, medical equipment, and computer peripherals, the M95M01 serial EEPROM with integrated SPI packs 1 Mb of memory in an SO8N package with a 3.8-mm body width. Said to be the first SPI serial EEPROM on the market to cram 1 Mb into this size package, the device is also available in a wider SO8W. Memory is organized as 128-Kb x 8 and supports byte-and-page write modes with a write time of 256 bytes in less than 5 ms, less than 13 µs/byte typical. With a data-retention spec of more than 40 years, write endurance is more than one million write cycles. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. Pricing for the M95M01 in volume is $1.50 each.
