Reportedly the thinnest available, the company’s 1005-size thin-film band-pass filter measures 0.3-mm thick. Overall, the device measures1.0 mm x 0.5 mm and targets portable applications including ensuring signal quality in wireless LANs for mobile phone use, Bluetooth modules, Bluetooth-compatible headsets, and other devices. The company’s thin-film technologies, developed through hard-disk drive magnetic head manufacturing and formed thin-films of copper wiring, insulation material, and dielectric material on a ceramic substrate, claim responsibility for this significant reduction in size.
