DC-DC Converters Withstand High Temperatures

The HTA family of DC-DC converters is intended for high-power subsurface and high-temperature applications up to 185ºC, including down-hole drilling, seismic and natural resource exploration, and jet-engine control electronics. Suited for use as building blocks and intermediate bus converters for power systems, the converters are said to significantly reduce design cycle time, size and design costs associated with high-temperature applications. The HTA series is capable of providing up to 20 W of output power over extreme case temperatures of -35 to +185ºC. The converters have an input voltage range of 150 V to 250 V and are offered in single- and dual-output configurations. Input and output are galvanically isolated to protect the output loads from catastrophic system failures at the input side and provide the flexibility of stacking several converters to achieve a higher output voltage. Additional features include small size, low weight and high tolerance to environmental stresses such as wide temperature extremes and severe shock and vibration.
